Christmas parade held for William Byrd student battling cancer

ROANOKE, COUNTY Va. (WFXR)- A community came together Monday night to show support for Cam Thepsimuoing, a William Byrd High School student battling stage 4 cancer.

Cam got a front row seat to a special Christmas parade in his honor, which included rides decked out by the Star City Jeepers, and a visit from the big man himself, Santa Claus.

“When he was diagnosed and he was in the hospital, he kind of missed a lot of the activities last year,” said Cam’s mother Charlene Thepsimuoing. “But people knew on his page how much he really enjoyed Christmas.
