‘We should never forget,’ Sirens and Salutes 5th 9/11 memorial walk

BUCHANAN, Va. (WFXR) – To honor the lives of those lost during the 9/11 terrorist attacks 24 years ago, many organizations across the country are hosting everything from climbs to memorial walks. Sirens and Salutes was one of them, a local non-profit that honors first responders and veterans. The group held its fifth memorial walk on Thursday morning.

Before the walk started at 8:46 a.m., the same time the first plane hit, they released 24 doves, one for each year since the attack.

The founder and president of the organization, Bill Price, walks each year. He said some years around 70 people join him, sometimes it’s just him and a couple of others…
