‘Forge Your Path’ internship preps students for police careers

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – The Roanoke County Police Department has developed a new internship program to prepare the next generation of law enforcement. It’s called the “Forge Your Path” internship and it is more intense than the department’s standard internship program.

The program is for college seniors and juniors who plan on going into law enforcement. Megan DeBoest, a senior criminal justice major at Liberty University a program participant, tells WFXR she wants a career in law enforcement so she can help the community.

“It’s been really cool to kind of implement what I’ve learned in the classroom, and see it kind of play out in the real world,” DeBoest said…
