Roanoke motor lodge mixes mid-century splendor with modern amenities

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR)- Area dignitaries gathered on Wednesday, October 15 in celebration of a fully-restored Roanoke original, the Colony House Motor Lodge.

The lodge, located at 3560 Franklin Road SW, was first completed in 1959. Lucy Farrell purchased the property a few years ago and began renovations. She made sure to keep the mid-century aesthetic, while providing travelers with modern amenities.

The rooms are described as airy and bright, with a vintage design. It boosts a fitness center, meeting rooms, and an outdoor pool and picnic area.
