Roanoke, Virginia – The City of Roanoke has launched a comprehensive parking study focused on downtown and the River’s Edge districts to better understand current parking conditions and shape improvements that will support future growth. The study aims to ensure that parking options continue to meet the needs of residents, local businesses, and the many visitors drawn to the city’s vibrant core.
Public Input Encouraged During Open Workshop
As part of the city’s efforts to collect firsthand insights, community members are invited to attend a Public Workshop on Monday, October 27, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Berglund Center, Berglund Hall (710 Williamson Road NE).
“This workshop will serve as a listening session for the study consultants to hear directly from you about parking experiences, challenges, and ideas for the future,” the City stated. The event will follow an open house format, which means participants are welcome to arrive and leave at their convenience during the two-hour window.
Roanoke city officials emphasize that the study is part of their ongoing goal to maintain a downtown that is not only lively and inviting but also easily navigable. By evaluating how people currently interact with the city’s parking infrastructure, planners hope to identify ways to make improvements that benefit everyone.
