YOVASO highlights National Teen Driver Safety week to promote safe driving

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – On average seven teenagers die every day in traffic crashes nationwide, which is why National Teen Driver Safety week, was created. It’s aimed to raise awareness of how inexperienced teenagers, behind the wheel, can lead to more accidents.

Youth Speak Out About Traffic Safety (YOVASO), works with students across the Commonwealth to teach their peers about the importance of driving safety.

“These things are going to help us to, show teens what’s safe and what’s not safe when it comes to driving, so that we can not only change their habits, but also save lives,” said Taylor Gruse, a sophomore at Cave Spring highschool and president of the schools YOVASO club…
