Campbell County alerts residents to November SNAP delays

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR)- The Campbell County Department of Social Services is joining Bedford County administrators in warning SNAP households of possible delays to benefits in November.

Due to the government shutdown, November SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits cannot be issued.

According to officials, the U.S. Department of Agriculture notified the Commonwealth of the disruption.

What SNAP beneficiaries need to know:

  • If you currently have SNAP benefits on your EBT card, you can continue to use them to purchase food.
  • November SNAP benefits will not be issued unless the federal government provides additional guidance.
  • Campbell County does not have additional information at this time.
