Carilion Clinic surpasses $100M fundraising goal for cancer center

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Carilion Clinic has raised $105 million and counting as part of its Reaching Far, Caring Close campaign to fund the Carilion Taubman Cancer Center.

This comes four months after establishing its campaign, which initially set its goal for $100 million; the cancer center is expected to open in 2028.

The cancer center will include proton therapy, what Carilion Clinic calls “the most advanced technology for treating certain cancer types.” Former United States Ambassador Nicholas F. Taubman and Eugenia L. Taubman have given a $17.5 million gift, adding onto their earlier $25 million toward the center that will have their name.
