BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – A Bedford County man is speaking out about the condition of his modular home, just four years after he moved in. He claims the roof was improperly built and is causing him major problems.
Pete Rice purchased his home from Freedom Homes, a subsidiary of Clayton Homes, four years ago. He said over the past few years, he and his wife have dealt with major roof leaks because, as he claims, the roof was not properly installed. He has been unable to get any help from the company, as the problems started after his one-year warranty expired.
“I just keep getting beat down, beat down, beat down, wherever I go. This is one of my last resorts to hopefully try and get something done. This was supposed to be my retirement home, and it’s turned into a nightmare,” said Rice, who lives in Bedford County…
