VINTON, Va. (WFXR) – Halloween is here, and while the costumes, candy, and celebrations are all part of the fun, Virginia DMV officials say safety needs to be top of mind.
According to the Virginia DMV, in 2024, there were 497 crashes resulting in four fatalities and 29 serious injuries on Halloween.“Those numbers show why it’s important for everyone to pay attention to this occasion. People can have fun, but we want to remind both drivers and pedestrians to proceed with caution,” said Camila Barco, public and media relations for Virginia DMV.
