Salem woman charged in death of pedestrian in Roanoke hit-and-run

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – A Salem woman has been charged in a hit-and-run that killed a Roanoke man, according to the Roanoke Police Department.

53-year-old Tammy Roar of Salem was arrested and charged with felony hit-and-run, but it’ll be amended to:

  • Hit-and-run involving death

On the evening of October 8, 2025, officers responded to a pedestrian hit-and-run in the 1600 block of Hershberger Rd. NW.
