BEDFORD, Va. (WFXR) – The town of Bedford officially honored those from the community who fought in the Vietnam War Saturday morning with the unveiling of the highly anticipated Bedford Vietnam Veterans War Memorial in front of the Bedford County Courthouse.
A Vietnam-era veteran from Bedford himself, the memorial’s board chair Mickey Johnson first had the idea for the memorial 18 years ago, and said it was rewarding to see his vision finally come to fruition.
