Local behavior specialist shares tips on reducing stress ahead of Thanksgiving holiday

(WFXR) Thanksgiving is a time for being thankful and surrounding yourself with friends and family. However, behavior specialists said that tradition can bring certain pressures to surround yourself with more people, even if they don’t contribute to anything positive in your life.

If that caused stress, Shiloh Martin, a therapist and the project link coordinator with Horizon Behavioral Health, said setting boundaries can help.

“Having shorter periods of time, you are exposing yourself to stress, whether that’s a specific family member or a specific area,” she said. “Whether that’s returning to maybe a hometown or a home that has contributed to stress.”…
