ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) — An illegal immigrant from Honduras with multiple prior convictions was sentenced in a Roanoke courtroom on Monday, according to the Department of Justice.
According to the DOJ, 43-year-old Nelson Deras-Pineda was sentenced to eight months in prison for “illegal reentry by a previously removed alien.”
According to court documents, Deras-Pineda was arrested in June 2025 by the Roanoke City Police Department on felony DUI charges, which officials said was his third DUI arrest in the last 10 years…
