Botetourt County, Virginia, has received a $12.8 million award from the Broadband, Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program to expand high-speed internet access. The funding will allow internet service providers to connect over 1,000 unserved locations. This project aims to provide fiber-to-the-home service to about 96% of county residents.
The BEAD grant follows previous investments since the county formed its Broadband Commission in 2017.
