A wintry mix is expected to return to southwest Virginia Monday night and Tuesday, with freezing rain posing the biggest risk to cars and power lines.
According to the National Weather Service in Blacksburg, ice will be the primary worry, especially in regions along and west of the Blue Ridge Mountains, where larger ice accumulations are possible. Forecasters warn that hazardous travel conditions may develop overnight Monday and last through the Tuesday morning commute.
