TROUTVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) – In Botetourt County, people living on Mountain Pass Road in Troutville are worried about drivers speeding, which they say is a major safety concern that happens all too often.
Mountain Pass has many hills, sharp turns, and narrow shoulders, making the road particularly dangerous when drivers speed.
“Typically, people are speeding up or down the hill here. It’s a marked 25-mile-per-hour speed limit, but oftentimes most people are going way beyond that,” said Cooper Lappin, who lives on Mountain Pass Road. “They do not abide by the speed limit. I don’t like mowing my ditch because I’m too close to the road. So I always try to pick times when there’s not much traffic when I’m out there.”…
