Winter storm disrupts power and roads in Roanoke

ROANOKE, VA. (WFXR) – Wet, heavy snow fell across the region Monday, and Appalachian Power says this type of winter weather can cause major problems.

“Any type of snow or ice storm can have an effect on the power. Anything from fallen trees and broken branches to heavy, wet snow can bring some lines down,” said Izzy Post Ruhland, an Appalachian Power spokesperson.
