ROANOKE, VA. (WFXR) – The vision that African American culture should be experienced, not just remembered, is what’s driving the museum’s move into its new space in Roanoke at Melrose Plaza, says executive director E.B. Smith.
“We’re the Harrison Museum of African American culture, not history. and so culture needs to continue to replicate and be alive and invite people into the storytelling,” said Smith.
