Unseasonably warm temperatures draw Christmas Eve hikers

ROANOKE, VA. (WFXR) – On Christmas Eve, the trails are usually quiet. But warmer-than-normal temperatures made it hard for people to stay inside.

“Well, we flew in from out of town, so I think we thought we only brought way too warm clothing to hike,” said Anselm Wiercioch, a hiker.

The 60 degree weather is not typical on Christmas Eve, but it gave hikers a chance to do something different for the holiday…
