DOT awards grants to Blacksburg, Carroll County, Tazewell County, & Rocky Mount

WASHINGTON (WDBJ) – The United States Department of Transportation (DOT) awarded three grants totaling more than $850,000 to Blacksburg, Carroll County, Tazewell County, and Rocky Mount, according to the office of Rep. Morgan Griffith, R-Va.

The following grants doled out included:

  • $484,863 was awarded the Virginia Tech Montgomery Regional Airport Authority in Blacksburg to support construction of three new 3,600 square foot hangars.
  • $139,113 was awarded the Twin County Airport Commission in Carroll County to support construction of two new hangars at the Twin County Airport.
  • $112,932 was awarded to Tazewell County Airport Commission in Tazewell County.
  • $128,000 was awarded to the town of Rocky Mount to support a Comprehensive Study Action Plan to improve road and pedestrian safety.
