Vinton woman concerned about crashes in front of her home

VINTON, Va. (WDBJ) – A Bedford County woman who lives just outside of Vinton said more needs to be done to make the road in front of her home safer. It comes after there was a fatal crash right in front of her house in early December.

Suzy Sutherland lives on Stewartsville Road between the Mill Iron Grill and Dollar General. She stated that speeding along the curve in the road has become a significant safety concern. She said in the last three years, there have been at least nine crashes on her property.

“My grandkids running around, or my three dogs running outside, we shouldn’t have to worry that our lives are in danger on a regular basis because people don’t want to slow down, and the government doesn’t want to put in guardrails to protect the property,” said Sutherland…
