Roanoke protesters speak out against U.S. involvement in Venezuela

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – A small group of protesters gathered Saturday at Elmwood Park at the intersection of Elm and Jefferson, voicing concern over recent developments in Venezuela and the role the United States is playing overseas.

The demonstration came just hours after a U.S. policy announcement regarding Venezuela, which organizers said prompted them to act. Protesters carried signs and chanted, stressing that their goal was not confrontation, but to be heard and to raise awareness about what they see as a pattern of U.S. military intervention in foreign nations.
