Dr. David Pollio, a beloved Virginia educator, scholar, and mentor, died unexpectedly, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the academic community.
Pollio, 57, was serving as an associate professor of Classics at Christopher Newport University in Newport News at the time of his death on Friday, Dec. 26, where he was known for bringing passion, warmth, and accessibility to a subject often viewed as distant or elite, loved ones say.
