ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – The Roanoke Police Department (RPD) has released gun violence statistics for the year of 2025.
Last year, the RPD responded to 25 gun violence incidents where one or more people were struck by gunfire during a criminal offense.
Out of these cases:
- 16 have been closed by arrest
- 6 are under active investigation
- one case is inactive pending further leads
- two have been marked closed exception
The locations at which gun violence incidents occur vary. Again, out of the 25 reported for last year:
- four occurred in Southeast Roanoke
- three occurred in Northeast Roanoke
- four occurred in Southwest Roanoke
- 14 occurred in Northwest Roanoke
