ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Residents of the City of Roanoke that live in alleys and usually get their garbage collected on Mondays and Tuesdays are being asked to place their carts outside by 7a.m. on Saturday (Jan. 24). This strategy’s goal is to avoid trash pileups during the winter storm.
Crews will collect trash along these routes early as the weekend’s snowstorm could result in significant garbage pickup setbacks.
Alleyways cannot be plowed, so lots of snow can make them inaccessible to garbage collection crews.
