Franklin County has declared a local state of emergency for the winter storm expected to impact our area. County Administrator Christopher Whitlow declared the local state of emergency today (1/24/2026) at noon to allow for greater access to resources throughout the weather event.
Franklin County has also activated its virtual emergency operations center, according to Franklin County Director of Tourism and Communications Kevin Tosh. “If the need arises, the county is prepared to shift into a hybrid or in-person EOC,” noted Tosh.
