BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — As people start to thaw out after the winter storm, not everyone is able to get back on the roads just yet. For some residents in Bedford County still stuck at home, help arrived right at their front door on Thursday.
A warm meal and a smiling face are simple gestures that go a long way for a community still impacted by the storm that left inches of ice. That’s why the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office teamed up with the Bedford County Department of Social Services and The Shepherd’s Table, a nonprofit that serves free meals to locals, to cook and deliver 100 meals to people who are still unable to get out safely.
