Roanoke fire leaves family displaced, four firefighters injured

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — A Thursday morning house fire in Northwest Roanoke City left a family displaced and sent four firefighters to the hospital.

Shortly after 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning, Matthew Lee woke to the smell of smoke coming from the basement of his family’s home in the 2700 block of Courtland Avenue.

Lee said he found flames coming from the furnace, which quickly began to spread…
