VSP responds to 325 crashes during second winter storm

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Virginia State Police have responded to 325 crashes during this weekend’s winter storm, including 76 in Division 6, which comprises much of Western Virginia and the Roanoke Valley.

According to VSP, that was more reported crashes than any of the agency’s other six divisions between Friday morning and Sunday evening.

“I think part of the issue was the Roanoke area saw a little bit more snow than we saw in other areas of the state,” said VSP spokesperson Matthew Demlein. “And that led to conditions that were a little bit rougher for drivers to work through.”…
