ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Roanoke Indivisible is holding its lecture series titled ‘Understanding Unsustainable Systems and Developing Alternatives’ across Roanoke and Blacksburg, beginning February 16.
These educational opportunities are modeled off of teach-ins held during the Civil Rights Movement. Roanoke Indivisible has revived this tradition, with a purpose of what they say is to educate the public on “the impacts of authoritarian behavior on American society.”
Many impactful figures are at the forefront, including:
- Beth Macy – author and 6th District Congressional Candidate
- Walt Freese – former Ben and Jerry’s CEO
- Michael Santos – Professor Emeritus and author
