PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. — A Gretna man has been convicted in the killing of a Franklin County High School teacher.

A jury in Pittsylvania County Circuit Court last week found James Richard Mattox, 52, guilty of second-degree murder and weapons charges in the death of Tony Demond Gill, 46.
