BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – Virginia’s first wind farm is under construction in Botetourt County, raising concerns among residents about the project’s impact on the area’s natural beauty and potential health effects.
The Rocky Forge Wind project will feature 13 large wind turbines on North Mountain. The project, just under 80 megawatts, will generate enough power for about 20,000 homes annually, according to Apex Clean Energy.
