Lent gives Virginia aquaculture, farmers a boost

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Even if they do not observe the religious traditions, Virginia watermen, farmers, and aqua culturists love Lent.

During the 40 day long observance, many Christian, especially Catholics, Anglicans, and Eastern Orthodox, do not eat meat on Fridays. However, they do eat fish and seafood, and that can mean a bump in sales of Virginia aquaculture and seafood products.
