Equestrian IHSA Places First At VT Show

Blacksburg, Va. — The University of Lynchburg equestrian team took its talents to Virginia Tech for the VT IHSA and tied for first with 37 points on Saturday.

The Hornets opened the show with a strong result in Open Fences A, where Zoey Horn claimed first place. The Open divisions continued to add points in Open Flat B with another first-place finish from Amaya Bellfield. These early rides contributed significantly to the team’s total in a competitive field.

In the Intermediate division, Lynchburg’s McKenzie Burch earned a fifth-place finish in Intermediate Fences and Ava Jackson claimed a sixth-place result in Intermediate Flat. The Limit division brought additional points, highlighted by a third-place finish from Ashby Watts in Limit Fences.
