CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Officials with Virginia Passenger Rail Authority (VPRA), the town of Christiansburg and the state of Virginia broke ground in late April on a $264 million project to bring train service back to the New River Valley.
Almost one year later, crews remained hard at work putting in new tracks, working on the new parking lot and installing the signaling system, which lets trains know when to stop and when they can proceed.
