Teens arrested for SW Roanoke car thefts

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Two teenagers have been arrested “for a pattern of car thefts and attempted car thefts involving Hyundai and Kia models,” according to Roanoke Police.

From February 14 through March 5, 2026, officers responded to 15 incidents, including three car thefts and 12 attempted car thefts, within a 1.48-mile radius, RPD says. In each case, vehicles were reported to have damage to the door locks and/or the steering column and ignition areas, consistent with methods used in thefts targeting certain Hyundai and Kia models.
