BEDFORD, Va. (WFXR) – The Town of Bedford will host a town hall meeting in April to discuss electric power costs and how they affect local utility rates.
“Town Hall: Power Costs and Electric Rates for Today and Tomorrow,” will focus on the broad factors that shape electric rates in Bedford, according to the town officials. The event takes place on April 14 at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at 215 E Main Street, Bedford, VA 24523.
Paul H. Beckhusen of American Municipal power will present an overview of how grid costs influence current and future electric rates and utility bills. Beckhusen works with public power communities across the region and helps explain how wholesale power markets, transmission costs and regional grid operations affect local electricity systems.
