BEDFORD, Va. (WFXR) The Bedford County Public Schools (BCPS) School Board voted 5-2 in favor of closing Stewartsville Elementary School, the county’s oldest elementary school still in operation.
Many board members cited how difficult this decision would be, but BCPS had many difficult financial questions to answer. It was revealed during a presentation that this move would save BCPS around $1.1 million in annual operations costs.
