ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) — Dogs rescued in a February animal neglect investigation in Roanoke are beginning the next phase toward permanent homes.
Authorities previously seized 18 dogs in February from the 3500 block of Birchwood Street NE as part of an animal neglect investigation.
Angels of Assisi, the rescue organization that took the dogs in, said it is now able to share an update on the dogs’ progress.
According to the update, of the 18 dogs originally involved in the case, 12 have been signed over to Angels of Assisi. The remaining six were kept by the original owner as part of a compromise reached through the courts…
