Roanoke physical therapist assistant reaches quarterfinals of Ms. Health and Fitness competition

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Ashley Fant, a physical therapist assistant at Neuro Rehab Colab, has reached the quarterfinals of the Ms. Health and Fitness national competition, a contest partnered with the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, which supports cancer research and provides financial assistance to families of children battling cancer.

Fant said she entered the competition with a specific goal in mind: if she wins the $20,000 cash prize, she plans to give the money back to the neuro rehab clinic where she works to help expand resources for patients recovering from neurological injuries and conditions.

About the work at Neuro Rehab Colab

Neuro Rehab Colab is owned and operated by physical therapist Courtney Perkins. Many of the patients at the clinic are relearning basic movements and rebuilding independence. Mobility, strength, and balance deficits mean recovery often requires hands-on support and specialized equipment to keep patients safe.

Fant said she wants to use her platform in the competition to share the work being done at Neuro Rehab Colab and the impact it has had on the local community.
