Man arrested during Bedford County traffic stop had 158g of meth: sheriff’s office

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — A number of arrests have been made in Bedford County in the span of one week as deputies with the sheriff’s office’s Community Action Team conducted targeted operations.

According to the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducting traffic stops on Route 460 in Montvale and on Route 24 in the Stewartsville/Chamblissburg area have led to the arrest of multiple people, some of whom were wanted in other jurisdictions on multiple charges.

One arrest came after a man was found to have 158 grams of meth with him and tried to run away from a traffic stop. He was identified as Carl Gibson. A passenger in the vehicle, Lloyd Wright, gave false information about his identity to deputies, but was later found to be wanted on warrants out of Roanoke County.
