INTERVIEW: RPD searching for man caught on camera leaving four puppies outside Roanoke church

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The Roanoke Police Department (RPD) is searching for a man caught on a security camera leaving four eight-week-old puppies in a cardboard box outside a church in northeast Roanoke on March 8.

“The church actually found them that morning coming in for service,” said RPD Animal Warden Dalton Baugess. “And then they called us, notified us.”

The puppies were given to the Regional Center for Animal Care and Protection and have since been placed into foster care while they wait out a holding period before they can officially be put up for adoption.

“You can call them, make an appointment and work it out with them because it gives them a heads up to reach out to their fosters to find care for the puppies,” said Baugess…
