Spring practices are underway for Virginia Tech and first-year football coach James Franklin. Along with getting things going with his new program on the practice field, this is going to be a busy weekend in terms of recruiting.
One area that Virginia Tech fans should see a rather big change in is recruiting. Sure, Franklin had his flaws at Penn State during his tenure, but he had success as well. However, Nittany Lions fans will tell you that he didn’t have much success, but that’s another story for another day.
Franklin killed it recruiting while at Penn State, and Hokies fans are hoping he does the game in Blacksburg. On Thursday, Virginia Tech picked up its commitment in the Class of 2027 when defensive lineman Alexander Taylor. Another extremely sought-after recruit in the Class of 2027 is down to five schools, with Virginia Tech making the list.
