ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Before long, coffee will be flowing at the caretaker’s cabin at Fishburn Park, injecting a fresh jolt of energy into what’s believed to be the oldest-standing building in the City of Roanoke.
“It’s such a unique piece of craftsmanship in our city,” said Keri VanBlaricom, who has owned the property with her husband Justin since 2023. “I grew up in Roanoke City and this park is where I played. It’s been in my childhood, running around with my friends.”
The hewn-log building is believed to have been originally constructed sometime between 1820 and 1850…
