Carilion Cancer Center to add proton therapy with new grant

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR)- The Carilion Clinic Foundation was awarded a $500,000 grant to support the addition of proton therapy at the Carilion Taubman Cancer Center.

Community Foundation Serving Western Virginia made the donation.

The cancer center is currently under construction at Carilion’s Riverside Campus in Roanoke. The center will double patient capacity and expand access to advanced treatment options, according to the press release. Right now, the closest proton therapy clinic is nearly a three-hour drive away…
