The Discovery Shop at Smith Mountain Lake has moved into its new location in Moneta where the shop’s entire operation is now in one spot.
The new location, which opened on April 10, is at 13374 Booker T. Washington Hwy, suite A in Moneta, in the strip mall accompanying Floor Source and Tropiko Pollo.
Store manager Michelle Adair said they needed more space and decided to integrate the main shop and annex. The new store is 7,000 square feet of which 5,000 is retail space. “Adding our clothing line required additional space,” said Adair. “We now have gently used and new clothing and accessories for men, women and children.” The store did not have a clothing line when it was located on Scruggs Road. Adair said the clothing line is a popular addition that helps the nonprofit support the mission of the American Cancer Society. “Clothes are a huge revenue stream,” she noted. “That’s why the move was so important.”…
