FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – History is coming to life in Franklin County, as the immersive, hands-on, interactive VA250 mobile museum rolls into town. The museum shows the integral role the commonwealth played in the birth of our nation.
The mobile museum has been traveling around the commonwealth over the past year, educating communities for free ahead of the country’s 250th birthday. The museum is called “Out of Many, One” and is housed in an expandable tractor-trailer. This weekend, it’s making one of its first stops in southwest Virginia.
“Not only are we going to have the VA250 mobile museum, but we also have some of our local community members. They’re going to be showing local craft artisans—the way that things were done, kind of in that 1776-time frame,” said Kevin Tosh, the director of tourism and communications with Franklin County.
