ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Roanoke City Council has officially finalized a budget of $421.5 million for the 2027 fiscal year after making millions of dollars in cuts.
The school board will meet Tuesday night to discuss its budget before it gets finalized in June, but without a number from the state, there’s still a lot up in the air.
The city of Roanoke has approved $108 million for the schools, but the original request was for $124 million. Among the biggest concerns in this budget process surround the future of the PLATO Program and the activity bus. Tuesday, the school board will vote on what to do with those programs…
