Gunman at large after shooting on Piedmont Street in Bedford

BEDFORD, Va. (WFXR) – A 29-year-old man had emergency surgery after he was shot by a gunman who is at large, according to the Bedford Police Department (BPD).

On Thursday, May 14, around 9:00 p.m., BPD officers responded to a shooting on Piedmont Street in the Town of Bedford. Upon arrival, officers found a man who had been shot outside a home. BPD says the shooter left the scene and has not yet been located.

Police say the victim was stabilized at the Bedford Memorial Hospital, then was flown to another hospital in the area for surgery. BPD says the victim’s latest update states he survived emergency surgery…
